Postcard #20: Liberty School No. 6

This image is from a postcard circa 1910. This building is still standing but abandoned and is located on the corner of Liberty Street and Renwick Street at the edge of Washington Heights. It was designed by renowned architect, Frank E. Estabrook. It was built in 1892 for an estimated price of $30,000, the same price for which price it was sold by the city in 2007 to a developer for possible housing. However, if something is not done very shortly, the city will lose yet another landmark building to neglect.
