Postcard #8: Frontenac Car

This is from an original image we purchased from someone whose family was originally from Newburgh. The photo was taken about 1907. The car is a Frontenac, a car built in Newburgh by Abendroth & Root Manufacturing Company from 1906-1913. The factory building still stands and still houses several commercial concerns at the northern end of North Montgomery Street next to the underpass that goes to the Yacht Club. There is one in existence that our historians have found. Arrangements are currently being negotiated to have the car back in Newburgh for display.
